Course Summary

Economics and Management at Cardiff University offers you the opportunity to combine the main elements of Business Economics with the study of management. You will be given the opportunity to pursue specialist areas of particular interest, such as marketing or employment relations. A mixture of core and optional modules will be employed, which allows you to follow certain areas of interest, while acquiring a sound knowledge of the main elements of both subjects. Equal weighting is given to both subjects throughout the three years of the degree. Distinctive features Distinctive features of the course include: •the involvement of research-active staff in Course design and delivery; •the emphasis on independent learning in a research-led environment; •the emphasis on acquisition of high quality practical skills and the development of innovative ideas; •the exposure to different trading environments through use of the Trading Room, and the option to self-study for the Reuters certificate; •flexibility, permitting graduates to pursue careers in a broad range of economic and financial areas or continue to postgraduate study.

Standard Qualification Requirements

Acceptance of T Levels for this programme will be considered on a case-by-case basis by the Academic School. Consideration will be given to the T Level grade/subject and grades/subjects achieved at GCSE/Level 2.

For applicants taking the EPQ qualification, an A in the EPQ can be recognised to lower the entry requirements by a single grade. For example, an AAB offer would be “AAB from 3 A-levels or ABB from 3 A-levels and a grade A in the EPQ”. Please note that any subject specific requirements must be met.

34-32 overall or 666-665 in 3 HL subjects.

Accepted subject: Business.

The Welsh Baccalaureate Skills Challenge Certificate will be accepted in place of one A-level at the A-level grades specified, excluding any subject specific requirements.

We do not accept Critical Thinking, General Studies, Citizenship Studies, or other similar equivalent subjects. We will accept a combination of BTEC subjects, A-levels, and other qualifications, subject to the course specific grade and subject requirements.
