Drwy gyfuno’r Gymraeg a Iaith Saesneg, byddwch yn ennill cyfoeth o wybodaeth a sgiliau trosglwyddadwy, gan agor drysau i amrywiaeth o lwybrau gyrfa. Mae’r radd gyd-anrhydedd yn rhoi'r cyfle ichi arbenigo mewn dau bwnc ac fe welwch eu bod yn aml yn rhannu materion a safbwyntiau. Mae cwrs y Gymraeg yn berthnasol i’r Gymru gyfoes ac yn cael ei ddysgu gan Ysgol sydd wedi’i chydnabod am ansawdd ac effaith ei hymchwil. Nod y cwrs yw cynhyrchu graddedigion sydd â dealltwriaeth drwyadl (yn academaidd ac yn ymarferol) o’r iaith Gymraeg, ei llenyddiaeth a’i diwylliant, lefel uchel o sgiliau ieithyddol ar lafar ac yn ysgrifenedig, a sgiliau cyflogadwyedd a chreadigol datblygedig sy’n berthnasol i’r Gymru fodern. Mae'r cwrs Saesneg yn dechrau gyda sylfaen gadarn yn nadansoddiad yr iaith. Byddwch yn astudio meysydd traddodiadol megis seineg a gramadeg, ond byddwch hefyd yn dysgu sut i ddadansoddi iaith yn y cyfryngau cyfoes. Wrth eich arfogi â’r sgiliau technegol, byddwn hefyd yn disgwyl ichi fynd i'r afael â damcaniaethau cyffrous i ddehongli cyfathrebu mewn ffordd ystyrlon. Fel myfyriwr cydanrhydedd, fe welwch fod meysydd a safbwyntiau yn aml sy'n cysylltu pynciau, boed yn ddadansoddiad beirniadol, yn gyd-destunau hanesyddol neu'n ymchwil diweddar. Byddwch yn gallu darganfod tebygrwydd rhwng yr Iaith Gymraeg a'r Iaith Saesneg ac ymchwilio iddo, ynghyd â chael persbectif unigryw ar y ddau faes astudio hyn. Acceptance of T Levels for this programme will be considered on a case-by-case basis by the Academic School. Consideration will be given to the T Level grade/subject and grades/subjects achieved at GCSE/Level 2.

For applicants taking the EPQ qualification, an A in the EPQ can be recognised to lower the entry requirements by a single grade. For example, an AAB offer would be “AAB from 3 A-levels or ABB from 3 A-levels and a grade A in the EPQ”. Please note that any subject specific requirements must be met.

31-30 overall or 665-655 in 3 HL subjects. You must also have a Welsh Language qualification equivalent to grade B at A-level.

DM in a BTEC Diploma in Humanities or Social Science subjects and grade B in A-level Welsh First or Second Language.

The Welsh Baccalaureate Skills Challenge Certificate will be accepted in place of one A-level at the A-level grades specified, excluding any subject specific requirements.

We do not accept Critical Thinking, General Studies, Citizenship Studies, or other similar equivalent subjects. We will accept a combination of BTEC subjects, A-levels, and other qualifications, subject to the course specific grade and subject requirements.
