Our Motorsport Technology course develops you into a skilled Incorporated Engineer. And you'll learn how to turn ideas into well prepared design proposals.
We base our course around the design, build production and marketing of a model Stirling Engine. Our teaching staff have active research interests and you’ll study exciting topics such as:
motorsport technologies
computer-aided design
racing and road vehicle design
aerodynamics
chassis
powertrain
suspension
tyre dynamics
lap time simulation
CAD/CAM
business and management
racing engine design.
You’ll have access to specialist facilities such as:
a four-post rig
damper dyno
high speed instrumented engine test cells.
Our work placement programme has been commended by professional bodies as a model of excellence. And our students have an excellent record of gaining employment with their placement company after graduation. Other graduates have found work in the UK autosport industry in rallying, F1, Indycar and touring car racing.
