Course Summary

Our Midwifery BSc is approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and accredited as Baby Friendly by UNICEF. Midwives care for women and their families throughout pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period. They have an important role in promoting health and wellbeing. They are experts in, and the lead professionals for, women experiencing normal childbirth. They also provide and coordinate care, in partnership with other professionals, for women who have more complex needs. Our small cohorts mean you'll receive optimum support from the midwifery teaching team. On placement you will be supervised and assessed by experienced midwives. Oxfordshire offers excellent graduate employment opportunities. We work with the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust to arrange clinical placements in a range of maternity care settings. Our midwifery course is very popular so please apply early. We welcome applications from home, EU and international students.
