This course is designed for international students who do not meet the requirements for direct entry to an undergraduate degree. A foundation year is combined with a degree so you will only need to make one application and can apply for a visa for the whole course. Your foundation year familiarises you with studying at a UK university whilst being part of a supportive, international environment. You enjoy all the benefits of being an Oxford Brookes student from day 1, including full access to all of our study, social and support facilities.

The flexible course structure of the foundation year allows you to choose subject modules to match your planned degree. You have the opportunity to study one or two of these modules at an undergraduate level to give you the experience of studying at a higher level with British and international students. English language teaching is an integrated part of the course, if you need to improve your language skills. You will also develop your study skills and critical thinking skills before beginning your degree course. On completion of your foundation year you will automatically progress onto one of a range of specific degrees at Oxford Brookes.
