Course Summary

In a competitive world both globally and locally, industries and businesses rely on computer systems for all aspects of their work. Failure in any one aspect of a computer system can leave a company vulnerable financially and at risk from a breach in security. Computer systems are used for everything from basic in-house communications to large scale data analysis and website design. This programme aims to produce graduates who can engage in all aspects of the computing industry from understanding the uses of information and technology, to creating websites, to using and developing computer programs that are safe and secure. This Foundation Degree is the foundation of becoming an employable professional in the computing world. Students acquire the academic skills and understanding needed for future studies as well as gaining the higher-level technical abilities needed in the industry. Students graduate from this foundation degree with the ability to work in and manage a team as well as being independent, proficient professionals. Students will be able to enhance their studies by progressing onto the BSc undergraduate honours degree in Computer Science.
