This degree will cover all aspects of the form and use of spoken and written English and consider the ways it has developed over time, how it is changing, and how and what it is used for. The programme is dynamic and innovative, with highly qualified staff who are experts in their fields. You will gain skills in listening, transcribing and analysing language and learn how to apply them to areas such as teaching English, forensic linguistics and psycholinguistics.

Course Details – Assessment Method
Assessment involves a mixture of coursework and formal tests or examinations. Most emphasis is placed on work produced in your own time or formally presented in class. Typically, assessment will take the form of essays, linguistic analyses, class tests, individual/group presentations and group work. You will also have the opportunity to work independently on projects supporting your future career development.
