Course Summary

Our HNC Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering course can be studied as a stand-alone qualification, or as the first year of the HND qualification. During this Level 4 course you will gain a broad understanding of mechanical and manufacturing principles. Delivered alongside the HNC Electrical & Electronic Engineering, our expert tutors will give you a strong, sector-related emphasis on practical skills, and will help you to develop your existing knowledge of engineering. You will be able to expand your understand of mathematics, modern design, and manufacturing techniques, as well as electrical principles to give you a broad understanding of all industrial needs. By the end of the course you will have developed a good mix of practical and employability skills to further your career or progress onto higher levels of study. - You will be able work in your own dedicated space with access to the latest PC and Mac computer software. - Visiting guest lecturers and industry experts will provide you with a thought-provoking insight into real-life engineering examples. - You will have the advantage of being part of smaller class sizes giving you increased contact time with your tutors, providing you with real value for money. - Our tutors have fantastic links with local employers, so if you aren’t currently in employment, their contacts can help you secure potential work placements or even a job. - This course has been designed with career progression in mind and could help you secure a promotion with your current employer or prepare you for further study on the HND course. - This course is available to study full-time and part-time. Course Details - Modules

During the course you will cover three core modules. During these modules you will explore the details and principles that underpin analytical methods and engineering science. You will also undertake a personal project that will require you to use your creative abilities to design, implement and evaluate a solution to an engineering problem. You may also decide to expand your knowledge in advanced computer-aided design techniques, and the application of pneumatics and hydraulics to complete the qualification.
