Some people learn on the job. But you want skills that set you apart. You need business acumen to complement your vision, and our course incorporates the practicality and experience - as well as the fun part - that you’ll need to start a career in events. This rewarding career and unlike any other industry. It has a “work hard, play hard” attitude, and that means you need to be ready when jumping in. Our programme balances all the components of the essential toolkit you’ll use from your very first job onwards. You will get a 360° experience; gaining the core business knowledge through modules such as marketing and accounting, learning project management and translating it onto practical work experience, and learning critical thinking as well as coming up with real life solutions to contemporary industry problems – skills and approach that’s desired by modern employers. After this course, you can be a top events and marketing manager, a desired wedding planner, skilled PR executive, or an adept event organiser. The choice is yours, and by studying events management with us, you will benefit from a supported exploration that’s unique to the university environment. That safe space to work out which path is right for you means you’ll be a step ahead when looking for a job. You will learn the theory and how it translates into this one-of-a-kind industry, while utilising your sociable “people’s person” personality. In events, you will work with a wide variety of people and personalities; our active learning approach will prepare you for this and teach you a hands-on approach, giving you the freedom to challenge and explore new ideas. You will address real issues and analyse past events, such as 2016 Rio Olympics, while working with your team.
