Course Summary

This course encourages you to develop the knowledge and skills required to be a professional photographer. Projects blend creative and technical skills, including the exploration of fashion, reportage and location photography. You will explore traditional analogue processes and digital technology, experiencing a wide range of photographic methods and techniques. Importantly, the course also looks to enhance your creative use of visual language and wider understanding of photography through a self-directed research project and studies that prepare you for professional work. As you progress through the course, you will be encouraged to choose the direction of your project. This will be supported by individual and group tutorials, seminars, lectures, studio work and practical workshops, where you will work in an experimental and critical environment, learning with an expert course team, and benefiting from visiting lecturers and collaborating with industry practitioners on live projects. Yearly study trips include locations such as, Amsterdam, Berlin, Switzerland & South Africa.
