Course Summary

**About This Course** Deepen your knowledge and understanding of engineering and fast-track your journey to becoming a chartered engineer with our four-year MEng degree. You’ll benefit from our connections with local industry right from the start of your course. You’ll get a taste of the many career paths engineering will open up to you, through mentors and role-models, site visits and short-term internships and placements. We actively encourage you to develop your networking abilities, learning to make the most of our industrial contacts. You’ll also have the option of participating in SELECT and UEA’s Engineering internship schemes to enhance your studies. **Overview** Each of our engineering courses follows an integrated programme structure for the first year. This is designed to provide you with a broad insight into the incredible potential of engineering as a discipline. In your second year you can tailor your course to your interests, keeping the broad-based approach or focusing more closely on Mechanical, Electronic or Electrical engineering. You will have access to experience and resources from across UEA Schools such as Environmental Sciences, Computing Sciences and Mathematics, ensuring that your learning is limitless. For your first three years you’ll follow the same programme as BEng Engineering. In your final year you will focus on a multidisciplinary design project. This major team-based project will mark the culmination of your study and will encourage you to explore the breadth of your learning in partnership with an industrial project. You’ll be given a real brief to work from, and you’ll be encouraged to undertake site visits so that you can develop proposals, which you’ll then present to professional engineers. We produce pioneering graduates who are capable of supporting a changing industry through their intellectual flexibility. Our programmes promote the development of a new breed of highly versatile engineers, possessing the capacity to find solutions to society’s biggest challenges. **Disclaimer** Course details are subject to change.
