The qualification allows candidates to APL their Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training into a full level 5 Teaching qualification and progress into employment as qualified teachers/trainers, as well as to our BA (Hons) Education and Advanced Professional Practice Top-up degree. The qualification covers the knowledge and skills required by teachers/trainers in the further education and skills sector, such as: •Developing teaching, learning and assessment in education and training •Theories, principles and models in education and training •Action Research •Developing, using and organising resources in a specialist area •Wider professional practice and development in education and training You'll need to have: Candidates must be considering a subject for delivery and be aiming to achieve / or have achieved a qualification and/or have experience in their subject/skill at the appropriate level. Candidates must have completed the Level 4 CET or equivalent to access this course which can be accessed via this link https://www.don.ac.uk/course/education-training-c-e-t-level-4/ All trainee teachers joining this qualification programme not having evidence of at least level 2 in maths and English, should undertake an initial assessment of skills in English, mathematics and ICT. They should record their development needs and agree an action plan to address them. Initial assessment and induction Learners must undertake an initial assessment of their own skills in literacy, language, numeracy and ICT, as well as other learner characteristics at the beginning of their course.
