This is a one year full time progression degree from FdA Counselling validated from The University of Hull and accredited by the British Association of Counselling Psychotherapy (BACP). The programme aims to develop critically reflective, knowledgeable and ethically aware practitioners; engage in the study and critical evaluation of the latest research; prepare students in leadership and management of a caseload, service and development of others; broaden student's perspectives by developing awareness of international practice and diversity.
The programme will build directly on the foundation degree levels 4 & 5 with modules which develop and enhance Advanced Theoretical Concepts and consolidate prior learning and support overall professional practice, such as the Professional Practice module.

Standard Qualification Requirements
Students must have completed a foundation degree in Counselling to qualify for entry. Students with equivalent Counselling qualifications will be able to apply following an APL/APEL process has taken place to measure suitability for progression. A bridging unit may be provided where necessary to support students. An enhanced DBS check prior to entering placements is also required
