Course Summary

Taught by award-winning professionals from within the industry, Journalism BA (Hons) at De Montfort University will support you to learn about how to become a successful journalist within a specialised area. The Joint Honours course allows you to combine two subject areas, in order to expand your knowledge of another specialist subject alongside Journalism. The course will develop your understanding of the industry as well as developing your writing skills and techniques in order to become a successful Journalist within a specific field. We have a strong focus on employability, and The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2015 has ranked our Media courses in the top 15 in the country for graduate prospects. It was also ranked 3rd in the country for the organisation and management of the course in the National Student Survey 2015. As part of this course you will have the opportunity to contribute work to our student-led award-winning Demon Media, giving you the a platform to develop your work experience through The Demon newspaper, Demon FM community radio station, Demon TV and The Demon website.
