**Course Overview**
Have you ever wondered how are nature documentaries filmed? Do you have a passion for animals and the natural world? Well, how about combining your interests with film and photography to learn how to tell wildlife stories through media? On our course - the only one of its type in the UK - you can become a professional wildlife photographer and filmmaker. You'll learn to create polished, professional wildlife documentaries charting the relationship between humans and the natural world.
Our aim is to ensure that you graduate with a range of media skills, but also as a practitioner or artist with your own unique voice. Each year will build on the skills you developed in the previous year as you work your way up to bigger scale and more challenging projects.
- **Year 1** - Develop the solid technical and academic skills required to understand and successfully capture the environment.
- **Year 2** - Further develop and enhance your personal skillset working towards specialisms that match your interests or proposed career path. YouÂll explore and reflect on key wildlife and media related issues, together with developing critical analytical skills.
- **Year 3** - Take charge of your own chosen research and project, working towards your major final work. This could be a substantial piece of journalism, a set of photos or a film.
**Your Career with a Wildlife Media Degree**
The knowledge you gain from this degree will help advance you to the next stage of your media career. Whether you work as a freelance wildlife photographer or as a film-maker for a TV production company, you'll have the skills necessary to stand apart from the crowd, placing you in a highly valuable position for future employers.
