Our BA (Hons) Creative Arts degree is truly multidisciplinary and is specially designed for you to enjoy the freedom to explore artistic practices and express your unique voice as a creative. Your journey on this course includes the opportunity to create original and exciting ways to communicate complex ideas and concepts through a variety of visual languages. You’ll explore all areas of the creative arts, providing the finest opportunity to explore your artistic skills and identity. Disciplines range from Creative Writing, Poetry, Scriptwriting, Drawing, Painting, Printmaking, Sculpture, Textiles, Photography, Moving Image, Graphic Design, Illustration and Music, giving you a grounding in each to form the perfect degree for you. You’ll learn how to research effectively, critically analyse, reflect and expand your creative confidence.

This degree has three levels (HE4, HE5, HE6), each comprising 120 credits. HE4 - This level you will study 3 units from a mixture of core units and elective units. At this level, the emphasis will be on the acquisition of skills and good working practice. You will be introduced to other’s work through directed and self lead research, and will be encouraged to reflect upon your learning journey. HE5 - This level you will study two units from a mixture of elective units. At this level, you will continue to develop and improve your skills and the quality of your work, whilst further underpinning your work with contextual research. You will start to develop a personal language and voice, and begin to articulate your own view, backed up by reasoned argument. HE6 - This level comprises 3 core units. At this final level, you will begin the transition from being a self motivated student to an independent artist/practitioner, demonstrating inventiveness, aesthetic judgement as well as originality. You will also gain an understanding of the professional arena and take ownership and responsibility of your practice.
