BA (Hons) Ceramics & Glass (with Integrated International Foundation Year) is a four year degree programme, including a foundation year to help develop your creativity before you embark on year one of a degree. Our BA (Hons) Ceramics & Glass course at UCA Farnham offers you the chance to study ceramics and glass in the heart of a town with World Craft Town status, where you’ll benefit from UCA’s extensive craft expertise. You will discover how to blow glass, use the hot glass workshop, and create beautiful ceramic pieces using techniques such as wheel-throwing and kiln-firing. The course embraces diverse approaches to craft, supporting you to explore all methods of ceramics and glasswork, including traditional and contemporary practices. You’ll have the opportunity to experience materials and processes across both disciplines while focusing on your chosen specialisms. Along the way, you will gain the confidence, knowledge and experience you need to take the next steps in your career, whether that means setting up your own studio and independent brand, or joining an established studio and working with others.

For our students coming from a non-UK educational background, UCA has an Integrated International Foundation Year to bring students from around the world to one hub of creativity. This is based at UCA Epsom and delivered by UCAIC. This year of preparatory study is designed to give you the skills you’ll need to start your degree in the best possible way – with confidence, solid knowledge of creative practice, study skills and the English speaking and writing skills you’ll need to succeed. You’ll explore a range of creative techniques and develop your portfolio, with your chosen subject in mind. We’ll work with you throughout the year to ensure you’re on the right track and give you the tools to achieve your highest potential on your degree.
