Photography HNC is highly regarded by employers and academic institutions and provides the opportunity for those with some Art and Design / Photography experience to develop an in-depth knowledge of photography, experimenting with a variety of photographic techniques including advanced lighting, darkroom techniques and beginning to use a camera. It is ideal if you are at the beginning of your career or looking to improve your qualifications or career prospects in the creative industries.
You will be taught through a combination of lectures and in-class practical activities which help to embed learning and appeal to a variety of learning styles. Your learning will be supported by Moodle – an on-line electronic resource platform managed by your module tutors, by the excellent Learning Hub at the Aireville Campus in addition to the College’s Specialist Support Centre.
You will need to undertake an independent study outside of taught sessions. You will spend your time in College in informative lectures, workshops and tutorials, however, there is an expectation that you will spend double that amount of time developing ideas, techniques and processes outside formal College sessions.
The Photography HNC is a nationally recognised qualification in its own right and is the first year of an HND course. Students may be able to progress onto the HND at the College if there are a sufficient number of students.
