Specialise in original short and documentary film making, exploring innovative sound, production and post-production techniques in the College’s new and bespoke Media Suite. As part of the NEW Yorkshire and Humber Institute of Technology, you will have access to the very latest equipment and techniques. Media is one of the fastest-growing and dynamic industries in the world, globally and locally. There is a demand for expertise in the many different areas within television, film and social media. This course has been carefully constructed to respond to continued demand for highly qualified individuals within a range of media areas. As part of the Yorkshire & Humber Institute of Technology and the increased investment that this has brought, you will benefit from the investment Craven College has made in computing, cybersecurity and graphics to give you access to a wide range of expertise and allow you to expand your areas of specialism. Opportunities to take part in external visits to local film studios as well as local and national TV studios eg BBC, will be open to you. You will benefit from a regular guest speaker programme due to our excellent employer links and entry to film competitions. Fabulous, state of the art NEW facilities include a 4k video wall, graphics tablets, 4K monitors, high spec i5 PC’s, full Adobe packages installed on all computers, TV Studio with a gallery, soundproof Radio Studio for voice over work, industry-standard camera equipment, sound equipment and mixing desks. You will be taught using well-integrated practical and theoretical sessions, providing an opportunity for you to experience live briefs from employers, giving you first-hand industry experience or the chance to develop specialisms you would like to develop within your existing workplace.
