Course Summary

This top-up degree brings business studies right up to date by preparing the managers and directors of tomorrow with insight into enterprise, ethics, governance, human resources, marketing and performance management. You will have the opportunity to conduct live consultancy work with local and national companies, to apply theoretical skills to practical situations and to develop your employability skills through enterprise. The emphasis is on developing enterprising solution-orientated graduates who will stand out in the employment market place. Your existing skills will be developed through a series of lectures, seminars and problem-based learning opportunities. The more theoretical aspects of business studies will be contextualised into real world business settings and you are encouraged to nurture your problem solving talents. Work-based learning is explored within all modules and the opportunity to engage directly with companies as a consultant is embedded within our Consultancy Project Module. You will be assessed through a combination of reports, presentations, articles, tests and simulations. After graduation you can also take professional qualifications in marketing, law, education, management and accountancy at the College.
