The curriculum includes: creating inclusive learning opportunities, understanding difference and the need for differentiation in learning environments and developing positive partnerships with parents and other agencies. In addition to these theoretical aspects we will provide opportunities to develop your skills in applied settings guided by experienced professionals.

There will be four Education modules (out of a total of eight) in each year. in The Education modules will include: History of education; Local, national and international placements in educational settings e.g. museums, art galleries, outdoor centres; Sociological dimensions of education; Comparative education; Philosophical dimensions of education – what is it for? Why does it matter?

If you are an international student and English is not your first language, you can begin your 3-year degree programme at IELTS 5.5. Our International Route allows you to take 4 credit-bearing modules in International English Studies (IES) as part of your first year studies. This means you study 4 modules in your chosen subject and 4 in International English. The IES Modules allow you to focus on personal language development and your use of English as an academic language. Then, at the end of your first year, you’ll have all the necessary language skills to transfer to full study of your main subject. If you have an IELTS score under 5.5 you can still begin a 3-year degree programme with us. In this case we provide a 5 or 10 week intensive Presessional Programme in English language and academic skills. For the 10 week Programme you’ll need IELTS 4.5, and IELTS 5.0 for the 5 week Programme.
