Course Summary

You really can change the world, and we’d like to help you. Each year over 165,000 charities in the UK are working to make the world a better place. You’ll find many who share your passion, whether it’s: the environment; animal welfare; fighting injustice; ending poverty; a cure for cancer. Working as a fundraiser, you could join a team of like-minded people and actually know how much difference you make in the world. With great career progression, scope to work overseas, flexibility to explore different disciplines, fundraising is a hugely rewarding profession. Our inspirational students have decided that their career is going to be all about inspiring people to be generous and kind. They’re the ones who’ll ensure charities have the resources they need to make a difference. Over three years, they take a learning journey that will help them think smarter, act wisely, and become inspirational leaders. The degree is taught by high-impact fundraisers, who split their time between raising money for charities and teaching here at the University. Their knowledge is fresh, industry based, and their teaching is peppered with real life examples that bring the theory to life. As a team, students and staff, we help real charities to raise funds as part of the taught programme.

English language requirements

Test Grade AdditionalDetails
IELTS (Academic) 6.0
PTE Academic 50.0

The standard entry requirement for this programme is IELTS 6.0 with no element lower than 5.5. However, you can begin your 3-year degree programme with IELTS 5.5. Our International Route allows you to take 4 credit-bearing modules in International English Studies (IES) as part of your first year studies. This means you study 4 modules in your chosen subject and 4 in International English. The IES Modules allow you to focus on personal language development and your use of English as an academic language. Then, at the end of your first year, you’ll have all the necessary language skills to transfer to full study of your main subject. If you have an IELTS score under 5.5 you can still begin a 3-year degree programme with us. In this case we provide a 5 or 10 week intensive Presessional Programme in English language and academic skills. For the 10 week Programme you’ll need IELTS 4.5, and IELTS 5.0 for the 5 week Programme.

Further details of our international entry requirements can be found on our website.
