Course Summary

The purpose of the course is to is provide a broad-based curriculum bringing together different aspects of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM), to meet the skills gap in the identified by employers in the south-east region and prepare you for multi-disciplinary career pathways. There are three hub subjects: Computing, Engineering and Maths & Science. This unique course has been designed to prepare you for a career in employment areas that are currently emerging within the technology industry It will provide you with a valuable combination of skill sets that are required and will help you stand out and succeed in the ever-changing technologies sectors.

Course Details - Modules

The purpose of the course is to is provide a broad-based curriculum bringing together different aspects of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM), to meet the skills gap in the identified by employers in the south-east region and prepare students for multi-disciplinary career pathways. There are three hub subjects: Computing, Engineering and Maths & Science. Linked to each hub subject are the different modules. The modules studied are: Year 1 • Engineering Fundamentals (double unit) • Future Manufacturing • Application of Alternative Realities • Managing a Professional Technology Project • Commercial Aspects • Integrated Technologies • Responsible Engineering Year 2 • Research Project (double unit) • Work Based Learning • Further Maths • Programming • Robotics • Automotive Low Carbon Technology • Data Analytics and Cyber Security

Course Details – Assessment Method

You will complete a number of formal assessments for each unit which are assessed internally and count towards the unit grade and overall qualification grade. Assessments must be submitted electronically before a set deadline and may include a variety of evidence types including: • Practical exercises • Reports and documentation • Project work • Exam • Time constrained tasks • Computer based application • Peer review • Reflective accounts/ logs
