Are you a passionate Early Years Professional looking to extend your knowledge and expertise to degree level whilst also working in the Early Years sector too?
Our employment related degree combines theory and practice that directly links to your professional working role. Your degree experience combines teaching and learning that consist of lectures, work based learning, workshops, seminars, discussion groups, action planning, self assessment and independent study. In addition, as the Degree is run in collaboration with the University of Chichester, you will be invited to attend a collaborative lecturer at the University.
Assessment on the Foundation Degree is based on a number of different formats including portfolio, case study, coursework presentations and written essays.
You will be studying 6 modules at level 4 and 6 modules at level 5: Currently the Foundation Degree is being re-validated to ensure the course content is relevant to the the Early Years' Sector and therefore the modules below may change in content.

Course Details – Assessment Method
The close link between teaching, learning and assessments will be emphasized throughout the course. The development of a variety of assessment tasks integrated with the learning and teaching programme will ensure that you are given relevant and meaningful activities with specific outcomes. Many of your assessment will expect you to draw on your experience and work-based activity. Examples of assessment include:
• Observations and interpretation of children’s activity
• Evaluation of given case studies
• Critical review of literature on a specific topic
• Group and individual presentations
• An interrogation of theoretical and research-based evidence
• Pod-casting, emails and discussion boards.
In addition, you will be given an opportunity to attend a tutorial after each teaching day if you require any additional guidance on your assessment. This is a great opportunity for you to discuss any uncertain matters, which may rise during the teaching session with your subject tutors.
