Course Summary

This course aims to develop you as a confident, knowledgeable and effective practitioner to work with children, young people and their families in the children’s and young people’s service sector. You will be encouraged to reflect on your practice and enhance your knowledge through the theory covered on the course. Your work setting is used for work-based projects, activities and research so everything you study will be relevant to your everyday work. Successful completion of the FdA Children and Young People can lead on to careers specific to the pathway chosen. Many choose to continue their studies on a third year ‘top-up’ qualification to a full honours degree, such as the BA (Hons) Education Studies. Others have successfully completed teacher training and now work in schools.
