Studying Photography develops an independent practice, which ultimately leads to the final year degree show. You will present a body of work, which has emerged as a result of sustained practice and research, and have the opportunity to explore photography’s multiple forms including art, documentary and publishing. Critical approaches to other areas including fashion and editorial practices are also supported. The history and theory of the subject also underpins the course as you investigate photography’s different contexts.
Graphic Design: We support design through research, taking into consideration the needs of client and audience. Acquiring knowledge of the cultural, social and ethical concerns of design, and developing an understanding of your position on these issues, will give you the confidence to push the boundaries of design, exploring its social, commercial and entrepreneurial possibilities.

Course Details – Assessment Method
Photography: Assessment is based on the submission of folio and journal work as well as written assignments. This might include video and object-based works as well as photobooks. Written and tutorial feedback is provided at each stage of your studies. The final year exhibition represents the culmination of your studies.
Graphic Design: There are no exams. The majority of assessment is project-based comprising two elements: a body of research, idea generation and design development plus finished graphic artefacts. A small amount of assessment is through presentations or pitches and there will be some written work to be completed at each level.
