We work closely with the Association of Events Management Educators (AEME) and with key stakeholders across the events industry to ensure content is up-to-date, industry relevant, and embeds key events management skills throughout the programme. **Course details** **Modules** Your transformation from new student to future events management professional will begin from day one. In your first year you will learn the fundamental concepts of events management and experience the events industry through field visits, speakers and practical activities. You will develop key management skills in project planning, marketing, service experiences, risk management, tourism and entrepreneurship. In year two, you will enhance your practical events management skills by creating and delivering a real live event to raise money for charity. You will further develop your cultural knowledge regarding events, as well as developing project management skills and techniques. You will start to shape your career path through a 5-week work placement that suits your personal interests and ambitions. Previous students have developed events while working for companies such as Storyhouse, Royal Caribbean International, and Welocalize. Your final year is tailored towards giving you the competitive edge you need to succeed in Events Management. You have an opportunity to explore how events are developed on behalf of clients to a professional standard, examine the role of Third Sector from an events perspective, and appreciate the management of major events. You will also have an opportunity to undertake an original supervised research project into a subject you select. Everything you study at Chester Business School will be relevant to events management and prepare you to succeed in your future careers.
