English Literature: Over three years you will study a variety of texts from the earliest times to the present day. Through the study of stimulating texts you will develop a range of core skills which will be relevant after graduation to many different roles and employment opportunities. History: By studying the human past, it can help you gain a better understanding why the world is as it is and a greater appreciation of your place in it. Studying History will help you to acquire the skills that employers value, such as critical thinking, teamwork, communication skills, information handling and original thinking. Teaching takes place at the Parkgate Road Campus.

English Literature: Assessment methods vary, and may include: coursework essays, seminar papers, oral presentations, resource-based learning exercises, portfolios, learning diaries, and a small number of formal examinations. History: You will be assessed through a variety of written work, as well as individual and group presentations. Written work assignments include book reviews, literature reviews, document analyses, essays, research dissertations, ranging from 500 words to 2000 words to 8000 words, and produced as coursework or in closed or open examinations.
