**Course overview** - During your Sports Coaching & Development Foundation Entry Year you’ll study alongside peers from related courses, whilst gaining a broad introduction to sports leadership. - Foundation Entry degree courses are ideal if you’ve got the ability to study for a degree, but don’t have the necessary formal qualifications to directly join an honours programme. It’s a great stepping stone to degree study. We’ll equip you with a broad range of skills and knowledge, built from an interdisciplinary approach. - Throughout the whole degree programme we will ensure you have a good understanding of the sports coaching and development sector. You’ll be introduced to the key concepts and components of the profession and encouraged to build your own networks to establish yourself as a developing professional. **Why study with us** - Examine sports from socio-cultural and historical perspectives, along with the study of physical education, health and fitness. - You’ll also have the chance to study optional modules in sports management, coaching and development, and will learn about major sporting issues and physical education in the UK and beyond. - Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Sports Coaching and Development (Foundation Entry) is ranked 1st in the North West (Guardian University Guide 2021) **Further information** - There are opportunities to use paid and voluntary placements to claim academic credit and gain much valued experience. - In your final year you’ll build on your academic and vocational skills and demonstrate your ability to work independently and professionally through an independent research study.

Minimum of 1 option from: Sport and International Development, Coaching Practice Experience. Maximum of 1 option from: Talent Pathways, Applied Performance Analysis Year 4: Research Project OR Consultancy Project OR Entrepreneurship and Enterprise for Sport, Health and Wellbeing, The Critically Reflective Coach, Developing Sport in Practice
