**Course overview** - Foundation Entry degree courses are designed for students who have the ability to study for a degree, but don’t have the necessary formal qualifications to enter directly onto their chosen Honours degree programme. Get a truly scientific understanding of nutrition and human physiology while you develop the consultancy skills you’ll need to practise as a nutritional adviser on this vocationally-focused course. You’ll study alongside other nutrition and exercise science students during your first year before specialising in years 2 and 3, studying the biochemical basis of nutrition, human physiology, aspects of health and the development of nutritional consultancy. - With an increasing importance placed on the preventative medicine sectors, graduates of this course are highly sought after as they are trained in methods to prevent and reduce disease through exercise and nutritional intervention programmes. - You’ll have the opportunity to work with professional sports clubs and athletes. You’ll also have the opportunity to undertake work experience or research opportunities abroad via student exchange programmes. We have links with universities in the United States, Canada and Spain, offering the opportunity for students to live and study Year 2 abroad. **Further information** We have links with organisations in the food industry, regional and international charities, environmental health and the NHS.
