Course Summary

Whether you want to develop an intrapreneurial approach to business, enhance your general management ability or gain a thorough understanding of business and management theory and practice, the BA (Hons) Enterprise Management course will give you the tools to succeed. During your first year you will, on average, attend between 14 and 16 hours of formal study per week. In the second and final year, attendance will typically be between 12-14 hours per week. During the optional placement you will follow the normal work pattern of your chosen company. You can take advantage of the optional 48-week optional work placement within industry in Year 3 providing a great opportunity to experience real work and put theory into practice in a professional business environment. Together, we aim to produce industry-ready graduates who are enterprising, responsible and ethical. You’ll have an opportunity to undertake a placement and introduction to business practice by means of a practical/development period. You’ll also have an opportunity to study abroad, demonstrate initiative, independence, motivation and depending on where you study, a working knowledge of another language.

Year 1: The Functions of Business, Introduction to International Business, Business Environments, The Enterprising Marketer Year 2: Five Compulsory Modules - Developing Business Plans, Global Business Environment, Digitisation in Business, Introduction to Accounting Information Systems for Entrepreneurs and Enterprise, People Management. Plus 20 credits from the following options: Marketing Management, The Business of Travel and Tourism Year 3: Four Compulsory Modules - Enterprise in Practice: Enterprise Project, Managing Your Business, Business Strategy and Global Growth, Business Ethics and Sustainability, Work Placement (for students taking this route), International Study (for students taking this route). Plus 40 credits from the following options: Middle East, Middle Kingdom and the Rise in Middle Classes, Accounting Information Systems for Entrepreneurs and Enterprise, Marketing Strategy, Creative Communications
