**Course Overview** - On our Business & Management Foundation Entry course, you’ll gain the awareness and skills to succeed in the dynamic, ever-changing world of business. - Foundation Entry degree courses are ideal if you’ve got the ability to study for a degree, but don’t have the necessary formal qualifications to directly join an Honours programme. Learn and socialise here, with cybercafé and easy access PC workstation rooms. - The Business part of the degree provides concepts and techniques that are relevant to a wide range of business problems and situations. You’ll cover an overview of various contextual elements of Business Law, Economics and Finance and Human Resource Management. - In your final year the focus is on exploring contemporary issues in business management, globalisation and strategy. - The Management part of the degree provides an opportunity to learn about the range of ideas, models and theories that underpin contemporary management. First, you’ll learn management theory. Then you’ll concentrate on managing change and research skills and explore strategic management.

Year 1: Managing Business Information (Year long), Skills for HE (Year long), Business in Context (Semester 1), Introduction to Enterprise Skills (Semester 1). Choose two from: Accounting and Economics (Semester 2), Managing People and Organisations (Semester 2), Marketing and Retail (Semester 2) Year 2: Core modules; Management and Organizational Behaviour, Business and Management Project Essentials, Introduction to Business Functions, The Business Environment. Plus one of the following option modules: Principles of Marketing, Human Resource Management, Finance, Business Economics Year 3: Core modules; Global Environment of Business, Work, Organisation and Change, Career Planning, Project and Operations Management, Research Methods. Plus one of the following option modules: Principles of Marketing, Human Resource Management, Finance, Business Economics Year 4: Optional 48-week work placement. Core modules: Management Strategy, Contemporary Issues in Business, Dissertation or Management Report, Management Analysis Project or Professional Development. Plus two of the following option modules: E-Marketing, Management Consultancy Skills, Learning and Development, Evaluating HRM, Coaching and Mentoring, International Management, International Finance There is a 48-week work placement in the third year for those taking the Sandwich route.
