**Course Overview**
- Learn modern, sustainable and energy-efficient engineering systems for built environments on an industry-respected Building Services and Sustainable Engineering course.
- You’ll graduate with the ability to analyse, evaluate and ultimately solve problems associated with the built environment and building services engineering.
- Study areas include engineering services systems, controls and plant, energy efficiency and sustainable design, and project, resource and energy management. The development of new technology and engineering solutions within the constraints of sustainability, safety, economy and the law, pose the challenge in this course.
- The course is a good start for engineers wanting to continue their academic development by studying for a higher degree. Full-time students can spend an optional 48-week sandwich placement in industry between Year 2 and Year 3.
**Why study with us**
- Learn about new sustainable building design concepts, opening up career opportunities for alternative specialisms.
- Benefit from three residential workshops across the globe: local, USA ASHRAE Conference and Hong Kong.
- Benefit from the latest high-quality equipment and facilities available in our new £35m Engineering Innovation Centre.
- The course is also delivered and validated by our team at universities in Hong Kong, Singapore and Athens.
**Progression onto MEng course**
- After completing three years of full-time study you’ll have the option to graduate with a BEng (Hons) degree (it will take four years to reach this stage if you choose to go on a 48-week industrial placement in-between Years 2 and 3). Or you can choose to undertake an additional year of advanced study and graduate with an MEng (Hons) degree instead (this normally takes four years to complete in all, or five years with an industrial placement).
