Course Summary

The course gives students a practical grounding in a range of business disciplines such as accounting, human resource management, operations management and marketing. Assignment and activities are designed to simulate real world situations. The course provides the opportunity to study for a year and gain the HNC qualification. Students can progress to a further year of study for HND in Business and can take a third year to study for a degree at the University of Bedfordshire or other Universities.

Course Details - Modules

There are six modules each year, over two years. The course emphasises the development and assessment of practical skills relevant to a wide range of business careers. . Stage one subjects include business, human resources, finance, marketing, enterprise and opportunity and business in context. Stage two builds further on these modules with an emphasis on skills as well as knowledge, for example, management skills development and the use of computer packages in accounting. Typical units include:• Accounting and Finance, • Human Resource Management, • Management Information Systems, • Marketing, • Operations Management,• Management Skills, • Managing Customers and Clients.
