The course is a 3 year course, run for 6 semesters, each semester is 12 weeks of teaching. The fees quoted are payable for each year.
This is a part-time course for people passionate about early years who are either working in childcare. They should hold a Level 3 qualification and be able to demonstrate, at interview, the potential to succeed in higher education.
The Foundation Degree is comprised of a range of modules which focus on working with children and it has a special emphasis on holistic learning. It includes taught elements, individual research and theoretical perspectives that related to practice. Specialist subjects’ modules enable you to further develop your knowledge of children’s development and learning. These modules cover: child development, theories of learning, children and families, safeguarding, embracing diversity, legislative frameworks and play, Health and Well-being.
Additional modules assist you in acquiring transferable graduate skills: action planning, report writing and reflective practice. Many of the modules require you to relate theoretical perspectives to practice in your workplace enabling you to implement new ideas and develop expertise.
On successful completion of the course you will be awarded an FdA.
