Two Optional Units from: Surveying, Measuring and Setting Out; Tender and Procurement; Building Information Modelling; Principles of Refurbishment; Principles of Alternative Energy; Principles of Public Health Engineering; Civil Engineering Technology; Principles of Electrical Design and Installation; Site Supervision and Operations.

Teaching, learning and assessment on this course has been specially designed to help students build their knowledge between modules and between academic and work-based activities. Teaching is delivered by a mixture of formal lectures by industry experts, seminars, workshops, case studies and field visits, all supported by live project work to put theory into practice. Leading figures in the Construction industry give insightful and innovative lectures which are combined with the opportunity to attend site visits and presentations given by specialists within the Construction industry. A Level 3 qualification in a related construction sector industry, such as brickwork, joinery or plastering. A National Diploma or HNC in a related subject. BSc (Hons) Technology (Foundation Entry). Relevant work experience will also be considered. All applicants will need to show they have GCSE Maths and English with a minimum grade C or equivalent qualification. Mature applicants who do not meet these entry criteria are welcome and will be assessed on an individual basis. All applicants will be interviewed to ascertain they have the relevant experience, qualifications or background necessary to undertake the course. Accreditation of prior certificated or experiential learning against some of the course modules will be considered.
