**What will I study?**
This course aims to provide you with knowledge of how to understand and deploy best practice in marketing in order to successfully begin a career in marketing, whilst at the same time help give you the skills which will enable you to develop your career as that world continues to change.
On this programme, you will:
- develop a commercial mind-set that links marketing to business at both a tactical and strategic level
- develop a clear understand of the evolving role and importance of the consumer in modern marketing
- develop an understanding of the critical role of digital technology in business and marketing, and where and how this can be used effectively and efficiently
- gain a strategic and global view with recurring themes throughout of problem solving, creative thinking and developing empathy.
**How will I be taught and assessed?**
This course is offered as a four-year programme, including an initial Foundation Year. The Foundation Year will allow you to develop your academic study skills and build confidence in your abilities, identifying your own strengths and development needs for progression onto an undergraduate degree.
Academics who teach on the programme have a wide range of experience and ongoing links with industry. Many of our staff are guest lecturers, conference speakers and content contributors so you’ll be learning from real leaders in their fields.
We also welcome a wealth of guest speakers; top professionals from across industry come to BNU to help you understand how your degree applies to working in business, and how you can learn from their experiences.
Assessment at all levels is by coursework, practical tasks and exams, with some modules being assessed by 100% coursework.
Your dissertation/consultancy project, completed in your final year, represents a major piece of independent research focused on strategic business issues of your choice.
