Course Summary

Designed with insight from a range of aviation and industry experts, this course highlights the constant changes within the sector. We have been a leader in aviation degrees and pilot training for two decades and you’ll benefit from our deep and specialised knowledge of aviation and strong links to the industry. You’ll graduate with more than just an aviation degree – you’ll have what you need to succeed in this dynamic sector. A degree in Airline and Airport Management will help give you the knowledge and practical experience to pursue a successful career in airlines, airports, and every other sector of the aviation industry, including ground handlers, cargo operators, aviation technology companies, consulting firms, government bodies and more. Our lecturers have excellent links with members of the aviation community and they’re perfectly placed to offer you career advice specific to the sector. With a strong focus on employability, we look at trends in the industry to make sure your knowledge is up-to-date. We’re located close to Heathrow and other major UK airports which - along with their suppliers - offer our students seasonal jobs and work placements. You’ll be able to learn more about the inner workings of airport and airline operations and fine tune your career goals. During your final year you’ll also be given the chance to run your own simulated aviation business in our interactive financial management module, and to work on your own project to write a dissertation or a business plan. BNU aviation students enjoy free membership of the Royal Aeronautical Society, the UK professional association dedicated to the aerospace and aviation industry. As a member, you will be able to participate in a number of exciting industry events, including conferences, guest talks, student competitions, and networking opportunities. You can also be able to join the highly active Students’ Union Aviation Society. You’ll get to meet even more people who are passionate about the industry and guest speakers. The Society organises trips to places of interest, events and conferences to help you stand out when you graduate. A typical offer will require a UCAS tariff score of: 80 - 104. A minimum of two full A-levels (or equivalent) is required. Every application is considered on an individual basis. By the time you graduate, you’ll have gained practical work experience and an in-depth knowledge of the aviation sector. This will make you highly employable in the aviation and tourism industries and qualified to pursue a career in the operations or marketing areas of airlines, airports, ground handlers and cargo operators. Some of the larger airlines and airports offer a limited number of placements on graduate management training programmes which you will be eligible to apply for too.
