This is the course for you if you are passionate about English language and keen to apply your critical reading and creative skills to innovative writing practice. Studying a wide range of genres, historical periods and cultures, you will link your understanding of the English language to the craft of writing, considering key texts and your own imaginative work in relation to political, social and cultural theories. This course will suit students excited about the idea of exploring a diverse range of texts through language analysis and creative writing. You will develop a creative and critical understanding of styles and genres across a range of historical and contemporary texts. You’ll get the opportunity to work with local publishers and writers to further develop your understanding and love of the craft. Trips and projects enable you to work in the community and be motivated by inspirational writers. There is the opportunity to spend your third year abroad as part of the Erasmus programme.
