Course Summary

Our accredited course will enable you to become a skilled and environmentally conscious civil engineer. You will learn to assess the environmental impact of projects, design environmentally- friendly structures and you’ll develop expertise in water and environmental management. Fieldwork, site visits, and projects run with our industry partners bring learning to life. You’ll work with students in interdisciplinary project teams on industry-based scenarios, ranging from design briefs to real-world case studies. You’ll learn with staff active in research and consultancy and visiting lecturers will also share their expertise with you to give you a feel for what the working world is like. The option of a salaried placement year and the opportunity to learn Building Information Modelling (BIM) will give you professional advantage. There is also the opportunity to study abroad in your third year. Our Civil with Environmental Engineering MEng course offers an extra year of study at master’s level. Our civil engineering courses are accredited by The Joint Board of Moderators (JBM), formed of five professional bodies; the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE), the Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE), the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation, (CIHT), the Institute of Highway Engineers (IHE) and the Permanent Way Institution (PWI). **BEng (Hons) Accredited CEng (Partial)** This degree is accredited as: 1. fully satisfying the educational base for an Incorporated Engineer (IEng). 2. partially satisfying the educational base for a Chartered Engineer (CEng). Must include Mathematics.

Pass Access to HE Diploma in Engineering or Science with 60 credits overall, to include at least 45 credits at Level 3 and an overall Distinction profile. Must achieve Level 3 units in Mathematics with Distinction.

Must include three subjects at Higher Level, one to be Mathematics at grade 5.

In Engineering with a minimum Merit grade in the Further Maths for Engineering Technicians unit.

Additional Fee Information

The fees listed here are for full-time courses beginning in the academic year 2022-23. Please note that the £13,873 international fee is for classroom based courses. For lab based courses a higher fee of £14,892 applies. EU students will be charged international fees unless they have settled status awarded by the UK Government's Settlement Scheme. Further tuition fees are payable for each subsequent year of study and are subject to an annual increase of no more than 5% or RPI (whichever is the greater). The annual increase for UK/EU students, who are subject to regulated fees, will increase no more than the statutory maximum fee. The tuition fee you have to pay depends on a number of factors including the kind of course you take, and whether you study full-time or part-time. If you are studying part-time you will normally be charged on a pro rata basis depending on the number of modules you take. If your course includes a sandwich year option you will pay a reduced fee during this year; £1,370 for home students and £2,120 for international students.
