If you are already working in a setting or if you have no experience with children, this course allows you to gain theoretical knowledge as well as practical skills. If you do not already have a vocationally related qualification at Level 3, in Year 2 you have the option to be assessed against the National Occupational standards and achieve either a Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Practitioner or Level 3 Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools. Progression Opportunities You could secure employment in family support and projects working in a range of early years settings – children’s centre worker, home/school liaison officer, early years practitioner or a role within a primary school. The Honours Degree could also lead to management and leadership roles within early years settings, children’s centres and schools. Post-graduate qualifications such as a PGCE are also a possibility
