Course Summary

Sports and Exercise Therapy is a strand of healthcare that specifically focuses on the prevention of injury and the rehabilitation of patients back to optimal levels of occupational, functional and sports specific fitness. The programme has roots within the core disciplines of Sport and Exercise Science but with specific skills and knowledge developed to work with clinical and non-clinical populations to prevent and rehabilitate injuries. The BSc (Hons) Sport and Exercise Therapy and Rehabilitation was developed in collaboration with The Society of Sports Therapists, an accrediting regulatory body for Sport & Exercise Therapy programmes. The programme is aligned to vocational skills, knowledge and abilities through core modules in sport and exercise therapy that are mapped to the industry standards of proficiency. These industry-identified core competencies will be combined with an opportunity to access specialist sport & exercise therapy education and training, an academic underpinning, and transferable skills for the workplace.
