Course Summary

Entrepreneurship is all about creativity, innovation and understanding business. This course gives you the opportunity to explore your creativity whilst also learning the practical skills and knowledge needed to succeed as an entrepreneur. Whether you want to start your own business or drive innovation and entrepreneurial approaches in a management role, we will prepare you for an exciting future career. You will learn about the increasingly dynamic world of entrepreneurship and business start-ups and the particular challenges faced by managers in these companies. We consider what it means to be an entrepreneur today and the role of entrepreneurship in culture and society. Using business simulation software you will have the chance to problem-solve your way through many of the management situations which arise in new enterprises. The theoretical aspects of the course cover key business topics including the relationship between business and politics, the differences between management and leadership and the responsibilities businesses have to the wider world. You will also study more skills-based modules focusing on strategic planning, project management, understanding financial systems and managing people. Entrepreneurial approaches to business development will inform your responses to these important managerial concerns. We have extensive links with businesses locally, nationally and internationally. Through live projects, guest lectures, internships and placements, we ensure that you are part of this growing network from the moment you join us. All of our courses are available with a year in industry, and we will help you to secure a relevant placement if this is a route which interests you. Graduates from this Management & Entrepreneurship programme will be employable as a creative business thinker in any sector or industry. The practical skills and theoretical knowledge you acquire would be relevant to any business setting in need of innovative, forward-thinking leaders.
