Football and its associated businesses (through sponsorship, events, hospitality etc) transcends many different industries. This programme will be unique in its composition with a balance between football management focussed modules and wider business and management modules providing the key skills required for a successful career. Through our relationships with the football industry (at professional, semi-professional and amateur levels) we provide a broad focus to make you employable in ‘the game’.
Students will be able to draw on excellent industry links that already exist with relevant business organisations and will be encouraged to undertake work related learning throughout their studies. Students will undertake either a work placement module or an entrepreneurship based module in year 2 (level 5) to provide increase of focus on work readiness. Students on the placement route will be expected to undertake a one year (minimum 38 weeks) period of work in industry, through the York Business School work placement processes. Graduate attributes will be embedded throughout this provision and students will be encouraged to engage with professional bodies, relevant networks and professional practice throughout their studies.
