The International Travel & Tourism Management HND will give you a thorough grounding in the key concepts and practical skills required within the Travel & Tourism sector.
Your previous study at Level 4 will have introduced you to a broad range of mandatory core learning in the Travel and Tourism sector, expertly equipping you with the knowledge and resources to continue your education at a higher, more specialised level.
The Level 5 Higher National Diploma in International Travel and Tourism Management offers pathways designed to support progression into relevant occupational areas or on to degree-level study. Holders of the Level 5 Higher National Diploma will have developed a sound understanding of the principles in their field of study and will have learned to apply those principles more widely. They will have learned to evaluate the appropriateness of different approaches to solving problems. They will be able to perform effectively in their chosen field and will have the qualities necessary for employment in situations requiring the exercise of personal responsibility and decision-making.
Course Details - Modules
There are two core units at Level 5, they are as follows:
• Research Project (Pearson-set unit)
• Tourism Consumer Behaviour and Insight
Plus, an additional 5 optional units which can be selected from the specialist and optional units.
Course Details – Assessment Method
The assessment will integrate academic and vocational learning through assessments based on real-world case studies, developing a range of in-demand business and commercial skills through practical and project activities
Students will demonstrate knowledge and skills through a combination of coursework, practical activity and (two) formal examinations. A wide range of assessment styles are employed, such as: practical work, portfolios of evidence, formal reports, seminars and presentations.
Graded exercises, weekly tasks, problem solving activities, flipped classroom activities and on-line revision tests/quizzes will be used as formative assessment tools to monitor your learning.
A full assignment schedule will be available at the beginning of the year to ensure that the workload is well balanced.
