Course Summary

This two-year Foundation degree in Sport and Exercise Science Cycling Performance is an exciting new course designed so you can pursue your cycling ambitions while studying. The unique feature of this programme is the access it will give you to a British-registered professional cycling team which regularly competes in the United Kingdom and mainland Europe enabling you to gain high quality work-based learning in a top performance cycling environment and exposing you to many of the key aspects of running a world-class cycling team. The course will teach you about the application of physiological, psychological and biomechanical principles to improving cycling performance and facilitates the pursuit of a variety of pathways within the cycling industry including, for example, rider support, rider performance or cycling development. It is aimed at either aspiring cyclists who want to improve their own performance or those who have a passion for cycling and want to enter into a career in coaching, team management or cycling development. If you are an experienced competitive cyclist and enrol on the course, you will have the opportunity to race for the college cycling club and may be entered for British Universities and Colleges (BUCS) competitions. Where a student wishes to obtain experience racing abroad we will attempt to facilitate this through our wide range of contacts.
