**Overview** This Joint Honours course allows you to study a range of education theories and approaches, while exploring literatures from the Early Modern period to the present day. At the same time you'll develop transferable skills that will boost your employability. Education Studies at Worcester allows will teach you about the development of modern education and how education differs across the world. You'll also learn about education from diverse settings, from Forest Schools to the inner city, and from young minds to lifelong learning. Studying English Literature you will explore an ethical approach to the subject, relating the study of literature to significant contemporary themes such as environmentalism, social justice, gender equality and disability inclusion. **Key features** - Study diverse literatures emanating from the sixteenth through to the twenty-first centuries - and encompassing both 'canonical' and 'marginal' texts - Very strong links with teacher training courses and providers of employment in other sectors of education - Opportunities to gain credit for work experience and / or mentoring in educational settings - Opportunities to play an active role in local and regional literature festivals, related events and a work project module - Strong emphasis on the development of advanced literacy and communication skills - Fantastic opportunities to explore education across a wide range of contexts: from primary schools to forest schools, from the UK to Africa - Tailor your course to your individual needs with a joint honours degree **Learn more about the course at our Open Days** Visiting us is the best way to get a feel for student life at the University of Worcester.
