“The world’s most valuable resource is no longer oil, but data.” – The Economist (2017). The top 5 companies in the world today all have one thing in common, they are all data driven organisations and ostensibly make their money not from the service they provide or the products they manufacture but from the data they collect and harness to make everyday decisions. Whether it’s Google, Amazon, Facebook or Samsung, these companies all have the same thing in common, and that is data.
