This level 5 course is suitable for employees from science based industries and for those who wish to upgrade their HNC to HND and require flexible study. Those who undertook a 2 year HNC may do this course to top up to HND in 1 year. The course is designed to increase knowledge and skills in the subject of chemistry. It is a level 5 qualification and will be at least 240 credits. Following full completion of the HNC in Applied Chemistry, students will undertake additional core and optional top up units to achieve 240 credits. (Please note that the number of additional units needed to convert an HNC to an HND depends on whether the HNC was the current 8 unit or previous specification, 10 unit qualification). Pearson BTEC Higher National qualifications are designated Higher Education qualifications in the UK.
