Course Summary

The BA (Hons) course provides an extension opportunity for those who are working in an educational setting and engaged in delivering learning. The aim of the programme is to enhance a student's professional understanding through academic study. Students will be required to undertake a research project and learn of the changes and development of education.

The compulsory module is the Education dissertation. Five of the following specialist units will be offered: The Professional Role and its Context, The Education of Vulnerable Young People, Policy and Practice in Educational Settings, Learning Through Work, Families Schools and Society, Mentoring in the Community, Sociology and Education, Models of Teaching and Learning.

Students who have completed Year 1 of an Education programme at UCLan passing the two core modules ED1201 and ED1202. 2. Applicants who hold a Certificate in Education (post compulsory). 3. Applicants who hold a UCLan Foundation Degree in Children, Young People and their services.
